The FM4200 is an advanced vehicle tracking unit that is used for the collection of performance data as well as precise location.
Designed for trucks and vehicles where comprehensive performance data is required, the tracker, in conjunction with the real time display software (TAVL), can improve efficiencies, provide for better management planning and offer greater asset and cargo security. Time and money is saved and customer service improved by providing detailed management information about the performance and location of vehicles to the fleet operator
Using the satellite Global Positioning network (GPS), the vehicle’s precise location can be obtained at regularly defined intervals. This data can then be transmitted using the standard GSM cell phone system for data (GPRS) to “real time” mapping systems, where the exact geographical position can be monitored.
The device is supplied with an extensive set of sensor input and output interfaces for monitoring various performance parameters of the vehicle.
The 4200 has comprehensive performance measuring capability. These include 4 digital inputs which for example can be used for status sensing e.g door open/close, engine running/stopped, panic button.
Four analogue inputs are available for measuring such parameters as speed, fuel levels, rpm battery voltage etc. In addition a temperature sensor interface can provide cargo temperature data for refrigerated goods. All this data can be transmitted to provide a detailed picture of the performance of the vehicle and the status of the cargo.
Four integrated digital outputs can be used to remotely disable the vehicle, to close doors or set off alarms etc.
If the GPRS connection is lost the FM4200 can store the up to 7500 records. Once the connection is restored the unit will automatically transmit the recorded data ensuring that all the data is collected and logged.
Battery options include an internal rechargeable battery and an external battery backup option enables the battery to operate for up to 48 hours transmitting data via GPRS. An integrated power management feature optimises battery use.
To capture and display the data as information, the TAVL software is required. This software will run on any standard PC with an internet connection. The software accesses the vehicle data from the internet and then displays the position and status on detailed maps. Pan and zoom permit the user to select a vehicle and zoom down to street level anywhere on the planet. The TAVL software can be purchased as a service on an annual subscription.
Each unit requires it’s own GPRS enabled SIM card. (To purchase, please contact us)
